Regular check-ups are important so that your dentist can keep an eye on your mouth and teeth to spot any anomalies early on. We recommend that you attend for a check-up at least every twelve months.
During your appointment, we will screen you for oral cancer and other oral-related pathology. A baseline chart will record your existing teeth as well as fillings, crowns, bridges, implants and any dentures you may have. Your mouth will be systematically checked for any abnormalities.
To aid diagnosis of potential problems, photos and x-rays will be taken at your initial consultation. In some cases, pulp tests will also be done to determine whether the pulp of a tooth is viable or not. Your dentist will outline the procedures involved, number of appointment times required plus give you an estimate of the cost.
A copy of your treatment plans listing itemised services and prices can be emailed or printed off for you, so you can consider everything in your own time. By coming in for regular check-ups, we are better able to tackle any issues before they turn into major problems.
